Well here it is - only three months later than planned. I am very pleased to announce that No. 6 is now finished!!!
This time I have included a selection of tracks from three decades of the Shadows recording history and hope there should be something here for all to enjoy as some of these titles have been quite heavily requested.
Also there are two non-Shads titles included: "The Storm", which was originally recorded by The Hunters and charted in the sixties and "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" as per Hank's version on his "Into The Light" CD from 1992.
It has been great fun to 'back engineer' these tracks and often very interesting to discover just how complicated some of these arrangements actually were both in terms of music and recording.
I must once again extend my personal thanks to Dave Prickett for his unerring attention to detail on the string and orchestral parts that he spends many hours deciphering and perfecting - his contribution to these CDs is priceless.
Finally, my thanks go to my old musical associate and friend John Woodward for his assistance in the cover photographs (he also plays the cymbal parts in "Our Albert").
Once more I have tremendously enjoyed making yet another CD and as usual as this one goes to press, I have started work on the next one - no peace for the wicked (or the neighbours).
